How to read the figuresროგორ წავიკითხოთ მაჩვენებლები

Weight and value are always comparable. Kilograms and US dollars mean the same thing for every commodity code, so they can be added together and compared across products without any caveat.

Quantity is measured differently for different goods. Wine is counted in litres, footwear in pairs, diamonds in carats, electricity in kilowatt-hours. Where a search covers goods measured in more than one unit, each unit is totalled separately and shown on its own line. Quantities in different units are never added together, because the result would be meaningless.

Average price is value divided by quantity. Where a single unit applies, the price is shown per that unit — per litre for wine, per pair for shoes. Otherwise it is shown per kilogram.

A month with no source data is marked as such, not shown as zero. February 2022 is not available from the publisher and is labelled accordingly wherever it falls inside a search.

Countries are consolidated. The source files spell some countries more than one way — four spellings of the United Arab Emirates, three of the United States. All spellings of one country are counted together, so a country filter returns that country's whole trade rather than a fragment of it.

How much of a product does Georgia import?

The result gives the total weight in kilograms, the total value in US dollars, the quantity in the product's own unit of measure, the average price, a month-by-month breakdown and the partner countries it came from. What period does it cover?

What is an HS code?
A standard international number identifying a category of goods. The first six digits are the same worldwide; Georgia adds five more for finer detail, making 11 in total. Why do some quantities show no total?
Because the unit of measure could not be identified for those codes, mostly older ones retired before 2021. Rather than add quantities that may be in different units, they are listed and counted but deliberately left un-totalled. Does this include re-exports and vehicle trade?
The published files record imports and exports only. Can I download the data?
Yes. Every search offers the full underlying records as an Excel workbook — one row per month, code and country, with quantity, unit, weight, value and unit price, plus a sheet explaining what the numbers do and do not mean.
